Google Tour Builder

I stumbled on this today: https://tourbuilder.withgoogle.com/ It's basically a cross between Storify and Google Earth. You can create a journey that you've done by plotting points on Google Earth and adding text, pictures and links. I can see the application for Geography lessons using this tool but also subjects like English and history. Write a story about a journey or use googles historical map feature to look at journeys from History.

Learning from Failure using Portal 2

As always, another engaging #ukedchat on Twitter last night. Every Thursday at 8pm GMT @ukedchat on Twitter holds a discussion relating to Education in the UK. It's worth looking at. Hacking into Minecraft on the Raspberry Pi. Using real fruit!

Many people buy a Raspberry Pi and it sits on a shelf for a while before they look into what to do with it. This is changing rapidly with the introduction of Computing on the National Curriculum and the Governments proposal to give a Raspberry Pi to every Year 7 in September 2015: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-31834927 One of the most engaging experiments I've personally seen in action (and tried and tested on our recent open day at Scarborough College) is using a capacitive touch sensor to run programs on the Raspberry Pi.
